This is glass gem corn. The kernels look like shiny glass beads when husked, though they dull a bit as they dry. They look a lot shinier in person. But it is the prettiest corn I have ever grown.
My major in college was studio art. Immediately after graduation, my husband and I started a family. As our family grew, art production took a back seat. Even photographs dwindled with each addition. I bought a DSLR, and decided to start my own art project. I will take pictures every day, and post one of them on this site.
I am finding that with digital, the results are immediate, allowing me to check my images and right away make adjustments to re-shoot the photo. The pictures are becoming a learning tool, and I hope that my photography impoves as the years progress.
