My daughter gave us a Christmas list today... 3 shopping days before Christmas.  Better yet, one of the books on her list doesn't even come out for sale until 2 days after Christmas, but at least she pointed that out for us.  Three things I bought her so far are on the list, so I'm not too bad off.

I found out an ingredient in marshmallows (phosphate) gives me severe headaches.  So I have to make my own now, which turned out to not be hard.  Homemade marshmallows are super soft, and amazing when toasted over a campfire.  They're also really good dipped in chocolate.  I used some cookie cutters, but they don't hold the shape well.

My daughter's class has had little lizards (anoles) to care for and study for the last six weeks or so.  With the unit ending, the teacher asked for volunteers to adopt an anole.  We volunteered and she's getting one, once we have something to keep it in.  We went out today and got the supplies.  We spent $175 for stuff for a free (retail value $8) lizard.  It's her Christmas present.  The tank she's cleaning is a used tank, but we like it's size and shape (plus being 50% off for used).  It's going to go well next to the big fish tank we already have.

When I ordered the big Lego set for my son, Lego was having a sale with free shipping and this snow globe set for free after spending $99.  I told my son I'd pay sales tax, but the Lego snow globe is mine.  I don't think he minded.

I heard talk about a 'supermoon' yesterday, but we had clouds during the moon rise.  So I took a picture early this morning.  I think this is the first time I've been able to get the moon's craters to show up on a photo.
