My daughter's class has had little lizards (anoles) to care for and study for the last six weeks or so.  With the unit ending, the teacher asked for volunteers to adopt an anole.  We volunteered and she's getting one, once we have something to keep it in.  We went out today and got the supplies.  We spent $175 for stuff for a free (retail value $8) lizard.  It's her Christmas present.  The tank she's cleaning is a used tank, but we like it's size and shape (plus being 50% off for used).  It's going to go well next to the big fish tank we already have.
