March 13, 2026

It's been very windy today. It knocked down a bird feeder. It looked fuzzy outside for a bit, we think it was dust blowing in from somewhere. And now our west-facing windows are extremely dirty.

March 12, 2026

Some of the seeds I ordered. Hopefully I will lots of flowers this summer.

March 11, 2026

Tractor Supply has peeps. They don't just look cute, they sound cute too.

March 10, 2026

We pulled the taps today. It's gotten warm and the sap was spoiled (and had lots of bugs). We've got enough syrup for a couple years, though, so it's been a good year.

March 9, 2026

The yard is turning green.

Boiling sap makes a lot of dirty dishes.

February 28, 2026

Today seems to have been the prime day for sap production. We got quite a lot and filled the 4 new 7 gallon containers we bought, and then some.

February 27, 2026

My son and husband have been 3D printing a robot that will be about 36" tall. It has a lot of pieces.

Thursday, February 26, 2026

February 26, 2026

Today we got about as much sap as yesterday. We're running out of stuff to store it into. We also got a tractor out, with brand new chains for the back tires.

Wednesday, February 25, 2026

February 25, 2026

We gathered sap today. We got about 15 gallons of sap, and there will be more for the weekend boiling.

February 24, 2026

We went shopping. I like to park far from other people.

Monday, February 23, 2026

February 23, 2026

We got more snow. I saw this car slowly go sideways, then slowly slide into the little hill across the road. They got turned back around after a few minutes and went on their way. Nobody else seemed to have problems with the road, though it was another two hours before the first plow truck went by.

February 22, 2026

My husband got an anvil.

Saturday, February 21, 2026

February 21, 2026

I boiled sap today. I got one of these and a little bit more. I'm still not sure why boiling sap leaves behind this discoloration on my pans, but it clears up after a few uses cooking other things.

February 20, 2026

I'm starting to plan out my plants for this year. I keep most seeds in these containers.

February 19, 2026

My son's Lego lighthouse, with a lighting kit.

Saturday, February 14, 2026

February 14, 2026

We tapped maple trees today. I think we put out 25 taps. It's a good day for it- some were dripping as the taps were put in. The first ones we tapped had maybe a quarter cup by the time we finished about 45 minutes later.

February 13, 2026

We ran to the grocery store this evening and they had lots of bouquets for sale for Valentine's Day. These ones were $19.99.

February 4, 2026

I had my annual check up today. They've got a new gown which is sturdier than the previous paper ones. This one has a belt which doesn't break when you touch it.

February 3, 2026

I found this in my dad's stuff. Maybe this summer we can try testing it's accuracy.
