October 31, 2024

It's time to take care of leaves.  Our yard isn't too bad yet, though we have more leaves each year.

The burning bush was trimmed last weekend.  It seems only the outer leaves are red.  The inside is still green.

He likes to find the center of any pathway and lounge in that location.

October 25, 2024

This is my daughter flying a plane (with an instructor).  She sends me her plane ID when she flies.  Today she flew close enough to home we could run outside and see her.

My backyard red maple tree gets yellow leaves.  At least we got the cover on the pool before the leaves started really falling off.

A comet is in the sky right now.  It's faint and barely visible.  It can be seen in the center of this long exposure photo.

My father-in-law passed away last week.  His calling hours were today and this is one of the flower arrangements.  He will be missed.

Potatoes!

October 12, 2024

The kids and I got the potatoes dug today.  They weren't as big this year as in the past, but at least there aren't too many with holes from slugs.  They're still quite tasty.

We were able to see the auroras again.  It wasn't as bright as last time, but cameras could pick it up.  This is what the colors looked like, but fainter.  It got brightest around 10:00.  My son took some drone shots, and I liked these four he took facing north, south, east, and west.  You can see how it was spreading from the north in his photos.
