The smaller flowers turn in the wind. Every now and then a bird will land on them and make it spin. The hummingbird who did that turned around and hovered angrily in front of them. He did not succeed in intimidating them.

I've been seeing bobolinks in the field. Apparently, these birds go to South America for the winter. This bird has possibly traveled further from here than I have.

A bunch of these yellow flowers appeared in our field. I think it's from the wildflower seed we planted about three years ago. I don't know where they've been hiding all this time.

A family of skunks wandered through the yard. There were three to four babies who just tumbled along on top of one another and the mom.

The field is looking a bit better. It's still rough but hopefully the rain we finally got will help.

I cleared out my butterfly/herb garden spot. The kids mulched it and we put some flagstone down in front of the goldfish pond. Now I just have to keep the mint from taking over again.

A small airport nearby had an open house and a free flight for kids. My daughter took her first plane ride in this plane.

It's been very hazy lately. There's wildfire smoke coming all the way from Canada making it orange. It even smells a little bit like smoke outside.

The pool is full and the chemicals are in. Now we need to wait for the water to warm up- it comes from our well nearly ice cold.
