It was really hot today, then we got thunderstorms in the evening and overnight.  We had lots of lightning and thunder and a little bit of rain.

I saw a wet spot in our dry garden this morning and took a closer look.  In the middle was a toad.  It was still there this evening.  It blends in with the dirt quite well.

Garlic curls.  I've been cutting them off, chopping them up, and cooking them with other veggies.

We've been finding lots of rocks in the garden this year.  I went ahead of the rototiller and picked up the biggest ones.  The far end of the potato patch is worse- it's like we hit a rock quarry there.

The local vocational school had their annual auction.  This year they were selling off the cosmetology equipment as they're remodeling/ getting new this summer.  We ended up with some cabinets, countertop, a receptionist desk, and one of those hydraulic chairs for cutting hair.  I thought it will be useful when I cut hair, though I am not sure yet where to put it in the house.

We planted beans and corn today.  If it grows decent, we're going to have a lot of sweet corn.

I froze a sheet of strawberries.  I also froze some puree, made 3 pies, and 6 batches of jam.  Next time, though, we're only picking 2 baskets- 3 was too many at once.

We got the potato patch weeded today.

We went to a picking patch for strawberries.  We filled three baskets for $20 each.  Now I get to make lots of strawberry jam.

The back garden was tilled and hoed this evening.  I've nearly got the whole thing planted, but we still need to get some beans in there yet.

My daughter got her second covid shot today.  The store I went to for mine had a little room for vaccinations.  This store has a red chair along the wall and a mobile screen (which wasn't pulled around her like last time).  However, this store was much faster at the process than mine was.

I bought a vinyl decal of an old Coke bottle for my ice box.  It's hanging on the wall until we get the box done.
