June 27, 2020

A cherry tree fell down in the woods.  We brought the logs up to cut into lumber.  It has a nice red color right now.

June 26, 2020

We have some asparagus that has grown to about six foot tall.

June 25, 2020

My zucchini are staying small so far.

June 24, 2020

I found a redwing blackbird nest in our hayfield.  They attach the nest to the grass (in this case, a few stalks of milkweed).

June 23, 2020

I planted some zinnias this year.  The white rope is a solar rope light, which looks much better when it's getting dark and the lights are on.

June 19, 2020

It's been really dry lately.  We finally got a tiny bit of rain (and a rainbow) this evening, though it's not enough for the garden.  I'll still have to water the garden tomorrow.

The blimp flew nearby today.  It flew over the hospital and circled it a couple times.

June 15, 2020

Our potatoes are finally popping up through the dirt.  It's dry now so they're making cracks as they grow.

June 14, 2020

I got this inlaid wood table at the auction.  It has a little bit of storage under the lid and came with some sewing supplies.  When we bid on it I thought it might work as a night stand.  Then I found out it's only 16 inches tall.  I'm not sure what people do with such a tiny table.  The legs come off easy though and I think I like it better as a box rather than a table.

June 13, 2020

We saw a local online auction with machinist tools we thought our son might need.  We were outbid on all the tools, but did end up with some things I liked.  There was some household stuff- nice pots and cookware and such.  I was really interested in this old ice box.  I've looked at ice boxes before to put in my kitchen so we bid on this one.  It was in the garage being used to store gardening supplies, and all the stuff in, on, and piled around it came with it.  We threw out quite a bit but did end up with some tools we can use.  I had trouble finding some history on this- most are wood and this one is metal.  I did find an old ad for what I think is this model.  It was originally green, which we saw underneath.  I like the red better so it may end up red when I'm done fixing it up.

June 12, 2020

I found a frog on one of my hostas.

June 7, 2020

We had some rye growing in the garden we're not using this year.  It has heads now which look neat in the sunset.

June 6, 2020

My son's vocational school had their graduation today.  It was a quick drive-thru.  We pulled up to the front, his name was announced, he got out, picked up his certification, diploma holder, and awards, then had his picture taken in front of the school.  We were there for about 5 minutes- quickest graduation ever!
