July 27, 2019

It hasn't rained for a few days, so the ground was finally solid enough to get the tractor out of the backyard to move our fallen trees.  We're going to make a new gate in the fence- one that isn't centered in our new swamp.

Christmas stuff pops up in stores earlier and earlier.  Now they have 'Christmas in July' snack cakes, which are the Christmas cakes with Santa at the beach on the box. I feel like they're trying to sneak one past us.  At least last year, they made their Christmas tree shaped brownies into camping tree brownies (without the Christmas decorations).

Hosta blooms.

July 17, 2019

The cable people came out and did some work on the pole in front of our house.  It's the broken pole, so we were wondering if he reported that it needs fixed.

Garlic bloom.

July 15, 2019

My broccoli is slow this year.

July 14, 2019

July 13, 2019

This is our apple tree that fell over.  The roots looked pretty good on this one.

July 12, 2019

My mom had a lot of branches fall in the storm.  Two pine trees lot their tops.  It took quite a while to saw up this tree top (about 20 foot long).

July 11, 2019

We had another hard storm roll through.  We got 1.75 inches in half an hour, so had a stream running around the house.  One of our apple trees fell over.  An hour after the storm we heard a tree falling in the woods, so went back there to check it out.  A decent size poplar fell over, although I think what we heard was 4 large limbs falling from our old hickory tree.  I was disappointed, as that hickory was our largest, nicest tree.

July 10, 2019

The last blueberry bush's berries are finally turning blue.

July 9, 2019

I got a new lens for my camera.  It's making some nice photos so far.

July 8, 2019

This log is ours.  It's long enough to perhaps be made bar height.

July 7, 2019

My zucchinni is starting to look decent.

July 6, 2019

The cherry logs we cut in March made it home.  This one is my sister's log.  They're big.  We're going to attempt to make them into tables.

July 5, 2019

We got some pond lilies for the pond, but the fish kept eating the leaves so I had to put them in the upper basin.  They have lily pads now.
