December 7, 2018

We went to the Goodyear blimp Toys for Tots drive today.  We arrived early enough there was a short line; a few cars behind us they put up cones and cars had to go out on the massive cone circle.  It's interesting to compare this photo to the one from last year (December 8, 2017), when they were still building this blimp.  This is Wingfoot Three, which first flew in June of this year.  Last Christmas, it wasn't painted and was closer to the floor (didn't have the gondola attached, among other things, like the propellers).  You're only inside the hangar for a few minutes, but it's still really interesting to see.  We took my father-in-law with us, and went out to eat afterward.  It might be turning into an annual trip for us.
