I made my niece a messenger bag for a graduation gift.  My mother-in-law is British, and I've noticed my niece wearing clothing and accessories with the union jack on them, so I made a quilt square of the U.K.'s flag.  I had a bag pattern, but added side pockets that were big enough for a bottle of water.
