Planting the potatoes.  It's dry here, so it got very dusty when he disced.  Last night I sprained my ankle, so I'm on crutches and am supposed to keep my ankle up for a while, so this was as close as I could get- watching from the house.

I went to the zoo today with the kindergarteners.  There's a new train there, although it doesn't run on tracks, but it looks like a train.  I had to laugh, as there is a new 'farm' area, which included a display with groundhogs.

The gas company sent some people to re-seed the ground they tore up when they laid the pipeline.  They cut through our cable line (again).  This time, my husband couldn't temporarily fix it, so we were without cable, phone or internet for two days.  Oddly enough, I found I wasn't even turning on my computer without internet, and one of the things I missed the most was the current weather report.

The rain washed out my new mulch.  I saw some of the mulch floating on the puddle, and now there's a round swirly mound of mulch above the drain we have in the ground.

We got a hard, fast rain.  For a little bit, it was a white out from raining so hard.

This type of butterfly was quite active and kept it's wings moving very quickly.  It seemed to beat it's wings a lot more than other types of butterflies.

I found out about a bike event on the trail near us.  I took my daughter and my dad.  It was 11.8 miles and the first 'event' for both of them.  My daughter kept asking when we were going to turn around.  It was a lot of whining.  But once we did start heading back, there was no complaining (other than the gravel in her shoes).  Maybe I can take her on a longer ride soon!
