This is the weather forecast from yesterday to next week.  There was a steady decrease, and then there's a steady increase, from below zero on up to 52.

We're having a cold spell today and tomorrow.  It doesn't look bad out, but it's been below freezing all day with strong wind gusts making a wind chill around -15 to -20.  Schools were called off for today and tomorrow due to the cold, including mine.  We had lots of birds at the feeder today, so my husband went out in the cold to bring them more food.

I got a backpack for school.  I needed a little more room than my messenger bag had.  It's still kind of heavy, but I can bring more stuff along for in between classes.

Went to my mom's for supper.  The boys got some more snow removal done while there.

This is a courtyard at school.  There's computers and study areas around two sides (inside the building).  It ends up being a nice spot to do homework between classes.

I bought the kids a gingerbread kit at a Christmas clearance sale.  They finally decorated it today- they had time, as they got a snow day from school.

I don't know how much snow we eventually got- probably around 10-12 inches.  There's so much wind in my yard I can never tell our snow total.  But the plow trucks went through.  This truck came by, turned around a short distance down the road, and came by again.  Then made a third pass.  The photo is from his second pass through.  I think it's because we get such bad snowdrifts across the road in our little area.

School started back up this week.  My son transferred to my school, so it's nice to have company on the way home late in the evening, especially when we come back out to find the car looking like this.

We switched around some tables.  Now the cat has a table to sit and bird watch.

I set up a terrarium this weekend.  The plants come from a planter from dad's funeral.  I used rocks I had found around the yard, plus a few limestone rocks we had brought back from Fossil Park.

I took my son to renew his driver's permit.  There's a new, convoluted way to get a license now.  He uses the old one and a paper for a couple weeks until the new one is sent.
