My daughter took up the hall intersection. The cat might have been jealous over her ability to occupy the entire width.

We got the winter cover on the pool finally. We're supposed to put a big, inflatable 'pillow' in the middle to help with freezing, but we haven't had a pillow last a month before popping. We'll see how long this one lasts.

The leaves are finally turning bright colors. I was starting to think it had been too dry this year to get much vibrance.

We stopped at the dam on the way home to watch a coal barge go through the locks. Their observation tower is open again with displays about the river. It closed 16 years ago after 9/11, so it was nice to take the kids up there for a better view.

We went to a festival and the soil and water conservation department had an augmented sand box. You can create hills and lakes, and a projector shows terrain elevations and locations where water would collect. She said farmers have come in to use it to predict what would happen if they changed their landscape. It was a lot of fun to create mountains and flood the valleys.

We bought a terrarium to give our anoles a nicer home. I wanted to put a little waterfall inside and we were looking at foam to create it, but recently found a little waterfall system at the pet store. It's the yellowish set of rocks in the middle. I had picked up rocks from the garden and cleaned them earlier, so just had to place them in the front and around the fake rocks. It ended up looking nice.

We got this pop machine for my oldest for his birthday. We're going to have to build a stand for it now.

We dug the potatoes today. They're nice and big this year. We filled all our sacks, which were enough to fill our truck.

My husband mowed the weeds in the potato patch. It's very dry here, so he created a large dust cloud.
