We get a lot of wind that blows our pool cover up.  we're doing better this year, with water jugs inside and ropes to keep the tarp from blowing too high.

 It was warm enough to make a little campfire today, so I made some marshmallows.   Homemade marshmallows get nice and brown and crispy over a fire.

My daughter was reading this as she walked down the driveway from the bus.  Then she plopped down on the couch and read some more.  Must be an interesting book.

My daughter went roller skating for the first time today.  She was getting better.  She never fell down- because she was never more than an arm's length from a wall or railing.

We got a lot of rain today, so we had our temporary stream running through the yard.  It never lasts very long, our land slopes gradually toward the back so water leaves as quickly as it comes.

The newest Christmas light fad are these LED or laser projection lights.  I'm not sure I like the moving types showing on houses, but I found these sidewalk light versions.  I found two so far, and I want to put them in my herb garden.  We also think they'll be neat to take camping.  The lights move around and it's a little disorienting if you stare at it too much, but I think it will work well shining on plants, or something to watch while sitting around a campfire.

We cleaned out some storage stuff in the basement and I sorted through some of my quilting fabrics.  I've got a lateral filing cabinet to put them in now.  I was surprised to find my tallest stack, by a large margin, was green.

My husband got some of the carpet tiles laid down.  It's the type that is usually used by businesses, so it should work well for the boys' office chairs.
