December 29, 2015

We got my husband a theatre sign.  It didn't fit about the doorway into the living room, so he hung it about the basement door with an arrow to the appropriate room.

December 28, 2015

My dryer broke, so it got taken apart and new parts have been ordered.  It had a bunch of lint inside, along with a decent amount of change- mostly quarters and dimes.

December 27, 2015

I got this light decoration for Christmas.  There's a few more, for hanging out on the deck in the summer.

December 23, 2015

Here is the gingerbread scene we made for the Christmas card this year.  It's still all standing (and probably rock hard).

December 22, 2015

It has been unusually warm this December.  The grass is very green for this time of year.

December 21, 2015

We have the stockings hung!

December 17, 2015

My daughter is ready for her school holiday program.  It's always nice to see the kids all dressed up.

December 16, 2015

My son got his Lego train set up around the tree.

We had a dramatic sky this evening during sunset.

December 13, 2015

I found some Lego candy molds.  I made a bunch of chocolate Legos, and Lego people.  One mold is larger, so I gave those ones a peanut butter filling.

December 12, 2015

Goodyear has a Toys for Tots program with the Marines.  You can bring toys to donate, and drive through a part of the blimp hangar.  They've been doing this for several years now, but this is the first time we've gone.  It's like an amusement park- 40 minute line for a 3 minute thrill.  It was neat, and we might go again next year.  They also gave each car a blimp ornament, which was a nice surprise.  The blimp inside is one they are building, though it is technically not a blimp, but a "semi-rigid airship".  It's going to look a little different, so we're looking forward to seeing it floating around in the future.  Since I was driving, I only got to take a picture outside, so I cheated today and added one of my son's photos.  It just didn't seem right to not post a photo of the inside of the hangar.

December 11, 2015

Sometimes I like looking at the back of sewn things to see how the stitches make a design.  This is the back of my teapot wall hanging.

December 10, 2015

We've been putting up the tree, adding a bit to it each night.

December 9, 2015

My daughter and I made gingerbread cookies, including a few 8N tractor shaped ones.

December 8, 2015

They can get colors on their braces.  She got purple and blue.

December 7, 2015

Tomorrow my daughter gets braces.  She'll have a straight smile in 2 years.

December 6, 2015

My daughter and I made a gingerbread barn.

December 5, 2015

It's time to start making cookies.

December 4, 2015

This morning, as my daughter got on the bus, I noticed three little faces pressed against the bus windows behind the driver (where the youngest kids sit).  It took me a moment to realize they were staring, in wonder, at the inflatables.  Made my morning!

December 3, 2015

The boys set up the inflatables today.

December 2, 2015

We finally got a winter cover for the pool.  It's pretty much just a big round tarp with lots of grommets and a wire to tighten it up.

December 1, 2015

He got the machines lined up.  The first three work.
