September 30, 2015

I'm taking an online course in Zbrush, a digital sculpting program I've been floundering around in for a while.  It's finally starting to make sense, and I'm learning how to use it better.  Today I made the medieval helmet on the left screen (based on the helmet on the right screen).

Two of the games we have.

I started this last fall.  Maybe I'll get it done by next fall.

It's time to start cleaning up the camper for the winter.

Here is the inside of  one of the arcade games.

September 22, 2015

I think this will be the last spaghetti sauce this year.  Good, I'm getting tired of making it!

September 21, 2015

My backyard maple is perfectly blocking my kitchen window from the sun in the evenings right now.

September 20, 2015

... and the garage is full again.  One of my husband's co-workers is moving and said he could have these old arcade games if he came and got them out of their basement.  Turns out, they had remodeled and moved walls around since the games were put in the basement, so he, his friend, my dad and my boys had a rough time getting these out.  But, here they are, our up-coming basement arcade.  Three out of six are working, so far.

September 19, 2015

We went to a parade today.  The rain held off until afterward.  The kids got lots of candy, and I got a reusable bag from the grocery store.

Apples!

September 17, 2015

Our garage got cleaned (well, as clean as it gets).

September 16, 2015

My dad enjoys Craigslist a little too much and recently found a tractor for cheap.  He's been rebuilding it and painting it up.  My husband keeps helping him to find cheap parts online.  It's impressive how easy it is to find new parts for tractors that are50-60+ years old.

September 14, 2015

A balloon floated by today.  It landed in a yard a few houses over.

September 13, 2015

The leaves are turning already.

September 12, 2015

My husband cut some aluminum with this big saw today.

September 11, 2015

Our neighbor is building a barn.  He put it way in the back.

September 9, 2015

The farmer across the road has been cutting the corn for silage.  In the middle of the field there is apparently a low spot where the corn didn't grow very well, although it's the only corn that is still green.

September 8, 2015

My mom planted some peppers in my garden.  Turns out, they are mildly hot peppers (she says they weren't supposed to be).  Now, all the peppers in my garden are just a little hot.  They have a pretty color, and a nice little size though.  I'm going to make a bunch of stuffed peppers with them.

September 6, 2015

I sent the kids out to swim yesterday evening, only to have it get dark on us quick.  It seems like yesterday the sun was setting after 9, but now it sets at 7:50.

September 5, 2015

When I was little, I was fascinated by the city map that came in the middle of the phone book.  I noticed that it showed our road continuing farther than what it actually did.  It was just a little section, maybe1000 feet long, that only existed on that phone map.  In reality, it was just an empty, overgrown patch of ground.  A short time ago, the powers that be decided to extend our road like it showed on that old map.  They finally started building the road extension recently.  We're looking forward to it, as a right turn brought us to a busy intersection with a long light for our road.

September 4, 2015

This is some fabric I bought recently.

September 3, 2015

Our potatoes seem to have done well despite the drought-swamp-drought cycle we had this summer.

September 2, 2015

It's hot again this week, so we will be able to get some more swimming in this week.

September 1, 2015

The neighbor farmer came to mow our hayfield.  It's been extremely dry and so he made a huge amount of dust when he mowed.  Although, it did rain a little bit while he mowed.  That's all you need to get some rain- mow a hayfield.
