March 31, 2015

My husband's work has laid off a lot of people, leaving one of their buildings empty.  They are gutting out that building so the building's owner can rent it to someone else.  My husband asked and was allowed to take some of the stuff they were throwing out. My sons, dad and I came up with a trailer.  We got a lot of stuff- round tables, folding tables, tables with wheels, computer tables, podiums (my oldest wanted those, we're not sure why yet), computer monitor arms, cabinets...  He's going to bring some more home tomorrow.  My dad likes the filing cabinets for storage in his garage, so we got quite a few of those.

This is looking toward the back of the Expedition.  It's black and tan on the outside and inside.

March 29, 2015

This is the inside of the Expedition.  It has fancy leather seats and woodgrain areas.  It has a back up camera that shows video of what's behind you on the rearview mirror like magic.  We haven't driven it anywhere since we got home as we want to make sure it's properly on the insurance first.

March 28, 2015

We started looking for another vehicle this month, which wasn't as easy as it sounds.  We had very specific needs- to fit 5 people comfortably and pull a camper- on what turned out to be a very tight budget.  Long story short, we found out: 1) Just because the dealer calls and says come down, we'll make a deal on that one, doesn't mean 'that one' is on their lot (2 1/2 hours wasted there)  2)While they are capable of updating their website with new vehicles, they don't bother updating it with the correct hours they are open and don't mention it when we say what time we're coming (2 hours wasted on that one)  3) None of the dealers come down much (if any) on their prices like they used to   4) Internet shopping makes it easier to find exactly what we want, although we might have to travel 2 hours to get there.  We found this, a 2010 Expedition, 2 hours away in another state.  But we got it, so the trip wasn't wasted (this was the fourth dealer we went to, although only the second vehicle we were able to check out and test drive).  It's the first vehicle we've bought that wasn't the most basic model you can get.  It's an Eddie Bauer edition, so a step or so above the basic model.  More pictures in the days to come!

March 27, 2015

We got some snow today, which is also the kid's last day at school before their week of spring break.

March 26, 2015

This was a party favor from the baby shower.  It's made from a washcloth and is very cute, especially as Easter approaches.

March 25, 2015

The water dripping off the barn roof washes away the dirt on the ground below it and leaves small rocks.  Apparently my dirt has lots of these little rocks.

March 24, 2015

My ivy is getting greener.
Today is 5 years since my first post.  Looking back through March posts, it was interesting to see how much earlier flowers bloomed in some years than others.

March 23, 2015

The crocus are popping up through the mulch now.

March 22, 2015

We went for a walk in the back today.  You can see the barn through our line clearing.

March 21, 2015

My brother and sister-in-law with their pile of gifts.  They got a lot of stuff to get them started with their daughter.

March 20, 2015

I finally got the butterfly done, then washed it a few times to get the seams fuzzy.  Just in time for the baby shower tomorrow.

March 19, 2015

The butterfly is together.  It's a pretty good size, and can be laid over the shoulders like a cape, or wrapped around to keep a kid warm.

March 18, 2015

I didn't get many birds at my feeder, but the few that came left quite a mess.

March 17, 2015

I got half of the quilt together.  I wasn't going to put the spots on it, but once I looked at this I decided to add the spots.  However, I'll use solid flannel rather than  the prints, which just didn't look right at all.  I think the eyes look strange too, but once I cut them and they get fluffly, it will hopefully look better.

March 16, 2015

It's amazing how green this creeping myrtle is after being under snow for a couple months.

March 15, 2015

The daffodils are peeping up through the mulch.

March 14, 2015

My son clipped some plastic off our sprues today to help us out a bit.

March 13, 2015

We packaged a lot of things for the business today.

March 12, 2015

The snow melted enough I could walk back to the first fenceline.

March 10, 2015

The birds have finally started coming to my birdfeeder.

March 8, 2015

This was our sales table this time.

March 7, 2015

This was behind our hotel.  It's very flat and open here in Lancaster, PA.

March 6, 2015

There was a big snowstorm where we went.  It looks like they got 4-6 inches yesterday.  It was enough to make the roads really snowy and icy by the time we got here.  It did look pretty though, when you're not driving through it.

March 5, 2015

We went to another convention to sell figures again.  Along the way, there is one section of road with dots, and signs that say don't tailgate, keep two dots between cars.  Two dots seems to be a rather large distance.

March 4, 2015

We made a new set of figures.  They are the crew for our crossbows.

March 3, 2015

The snow piles at school are huge.  The one along the back of the lot is about two feet taller then my van.

March 2, 2015

The snow had swirly lines in it this morning.

March 1, 2015

This is the medal my son got from the competition.
