I got the pieces cut out for a butterfly blanket.  I don't really like the spots though, I think it looks better without them.  Flannel doesn't have as many pattern choices as cotton, and a lot of them have large contrasting designs.  The large designs seem to be making the spots somewhat obnoxious. I still like the glow-in-the-dark stars though, the little kid in me still gets a thrill when the lights go out and the stars shine.

My daughter has new glasses.  Her prescription changed- a lot.  She should start wearing them all the time, though she is resisting that so far and just wearing them at school.  They said her eyes will keep getting worse as she grows, so I guess we'll be buying new glasses with a new prescription every year for a while now.

The kids got their 4th snow today today.  They made a small snowman.  It must not have been a very good packing snow as the neighboring kids all made little bitty snowmen too.

We got a neat looking snow drift in front of the barn.  It's been so cold and windy, with a little snow, the kids ended up with three snow days from school.  Already, in the first half of January.

I know the days are getting longer now, but it sure doesn't seem like it.  The sun appears so low all day.  I noticed how long the shadows were at 9 this morning, like the sun is about to set, rather than having been up for a while.

The kids got a snow today.  There wasn't a lot of snow, but it was very windy.  It was hard to see the mailman stop by today due to the gust of wind at the same time.
