We've had a lot of wind lately. It knocked down more of the bradford pear that had lost a limb earlier this year. There's not much left of it now.

My son really wanted this. It was expensive enough that it took two sets of grandparents to get it, but he was happy to get it.

November 18, 2014
It stopped snowing yesterday, but a strong wind started overnight blowing all that snow into the road in front of our house. Someone slid in the drift and wiped out our mailbox and paper box. The tracks look like she slid sideways and hit the box with the side of her car, and stopped just short of the phone pole. She stopped and left her info and said she'd pay for the replacement though, which is a first! I took this photo about 15 minutes after she hit it, and it was already half covered in snow. I saw many cars struggling through the drifts until a plow finally came through four hours later.

We got 5 inches of snow overnight. My son and I sat in the van at the end of the driveway for 20 minutes for the bus. When it got to the point that school started in 10 minutes (and it takes 15 to drive there on a good day), I finally backed up to the house to run in and get my purse to drive him there. That's when the bus finally came, and he had to run back up the drive to catch it. The bus was only about 10 minutes late for my daughter, but the roads were looking better by then.

We got the first snow of the season today. Time to find everyone's hat, gloves, and see how many of the kids outgrew their boots over the summer.

This is some of the fabric I'm using to make a little wall hanging quilt. It's for fall, but I'm not sure I'll get it done before it's time for Christmas decorations.

This is how my son does his homework. As long as he's getting good grades, I guess he'll be allowed to sit at the computer while working on it.

The view from our hotel. The sugar maples here (southern Pennsylvania) still have colorful yellow leaves, while the ones around home are bare. The convention is across the road at a resort. The area along the road is really built up with shopping, hotels, and restaurants, yet behind them are large farm fields.

We've been really busy the last few weeks with our side business. We're heading to a convention for it, to run Friday through Sunday. We saw a few trees that were still yellow along the road in Pennsylvania.

The tree on the left lost a large branch this summer. It has turned red while the undamaged one is still very green.

The leaves are almost all gone. Just a few days ago, this tree had most of it's leaves and was really pretty. Our trees are getting big enough we almost need to rake leaves. Almost. However, it's so windy here every day most leaves have blown away by the time we have a dry enough day to mow or rake.

We went trick or treating at my in-laws, since they're more in town than we are. My daughter got a full bucket, and my son just enjoyed handing out treats at the house.

I've been spending a lot of time on these this year. I digitally sculpted them, and my husband finally got them all made in plastic. I painted all these ones, and we should have them for sale soon.
