The kids carved their pumpkins today.  I mashed up the parts that were cut out and made two pumpkin pies just from that.

Years ago, I bought a little apple tree sapling from a garden club sale.  Despite still being small and rather scraggly, it has a handful of apples this year (compared to the larger, store bought trees that have zero).  The problem, though, is that I can't remember what kind of apple it is.  So I keep walking out there to see if the apples have fallen off yet.  They're hanging on, so I'm still waiting to find out if it's tart or sweet.

We had some extra cement from the sidewalk.  As a last second project, we dug out around our drain near the driveway and cemented around it.  No more mulch in the drain, and no more weeds growing up around my rocks.

The tree colors are in their prime this week, so it was time for the annual fall photo.  I managed to get a good picture this year of all of us.

My shelves are full- pears, jellies, spaghetti sauce, maple syrup and few other things.

We poured the sidewalk and pad today.  The cement truck made the barn look like a small shed.  It was a nice day for working- not too hot.

Sometimes I wonder if I ever do stuff where my husband's only response is to sigh and roll his eyes... cause I have that reaction to him very often.  The Galaxie has frozen brakes and two flat tires, but he managed to move it over and into the garage.

My daughter's school doesn't have Halloween parties any more.  Instead, they have a fall festival.  They do a square dance, then the classes have a little party.  Her class this year made applesauce, and had popcorn. donuts and pretzels.

We're going to pour the sidewalk and front pad next weekend, while the weather is still kind of decent.  Today they got the forms made for the sidewalk, and part of the pad.

This is the last batch of spaghetti sauce.  The tomatoes must have got too cold or frosted and are done for the year.  Guess that's a good thing, these were my last jars (both pint and quart).  I was even given quite a few jars over the summer (thanks!).   I'm a little shocked I used all of them.
