July 30, 2014

We were starting to pack up to leave.  Short vacation, but Niagara Falls was one place I wanted to take the kids while they're still kids.  Hopefully next year we'll be able to go a little further!

July 29, 2014

We went on quite a trip around the falls today.  They have a package deal, with tickets to the Maid of the Mist boat, a movie, a science center, small aquarium, trolley to get around and for this- the boardwalk below the American falls (Cave of the Winds).  It was pretty down here, with flowers blooming on the rocks.  The kids seemed to have a good time (other than a bit of walking to get to everything).  I wasn't sure how much we'd be able to see since we don't have passports to get to Canada, but we were able to view it quite well.

We were planning on a vacation to D.C. last week, but got part way there and the truck had issues and we had to turn around.  My husband replaced a bunch of things on the truck, and then we went someplace a little closer for a much-shortened vacation- Niagara Falls.  The night we got there we went to an arcade and mini-golf.  It was cold (for July), and we had to run the heater all night.  We made sure to get a camper with air conditioning, yet we have used the heater far more than the A/C so far!

My husband running the plastic machine.

I planted kale this year.  Now I just need to figure out how to use it.

July 24, 2014

There's always a few parts leftover.  Same thing happens to me when I put stuff together, though mine is usually unintentional.

July 23, 2014

My son got a new Lego set, and he recorded animation of him putting it together.

July 22, 2014

My pear tree is drooping more and more.  The pears are reddish, so they are easy to see.  It's the only fruit tree with more than a couple fruits on it, and I think it's trying to make up for the rest.

Dandelion fluff.

July 20, 2014

We now have doors on the first floor of the barn.

July 17, 2014

The door upstairs is open for now.  It's amazing how different the world looks when I'm up a little bit higher.

July 16, 2014

This is one of the 3D printed balloons I made and painted.

July 15, 2014

The camper fits in the barn, with a foot to spare.

July 14, 2014

My kids and nephew enjoyed the rainbow today.  It barely sprinkled at my house, but there was a good bit of rain southeast of us.

July 13, 2014

My husband started to make the smaller set of doors for the barn.

July 12, 2014

We found a finch nest in a small shrub.  Three days ago they barely had any feathers.  They're growing fast!

July 10, 2014

My nephews were over today.  The younger two and my daughter arranged the matchbox cars.

July 9, 2014

The tractor is looking better now.

July 8, 2014

The grapes we planted years ago have grapes this year.  These ones should turn purple.

July 7, 2014

The tractor is being put back together.  Maybe it will be working soon!

July 6, 2014

One of my pear trees is loaded with pears.  The limbs are already sagging.  There should be plenty for canning this year.

July 4, 2014

My dad and uncle went out and got these mower parts, which looked like nothing more than rusted metal to many of us.  Most of the guys though seemed quite excited about all those parts.

My dad raking the hay.

July 2, 2014

Baling some more hay.

July 1, 2014

It rained a little this morning.  But we did get a very nice rainbow for a few minutes.

June 30, 2014

My daughter and nephews made a chalk road going up the steps.

June 28, 2014

It's time to put in hay again!
