December 30, 2014

My daughter likes playing with toy swords.  Today she got my nephew involved.  They had loud music playing and were fighting in a dramatic, twirling/rolling/jumping fashion.

December 29, 2014

I finally got the table runner finished, just in time for my mom's birthday.

December 28, 2014

The gingerbread train all decorated.

December 27, 2014

We got a little bit of sun before these dark clouds moved in.

December 26, 2014

I found a gingerbread train kit on clearance.  She enjoyed putting it together.

December 25, 2014

I think the kids had a good Christmas.  They seemed to enjoy what they got.

December 24, 2014

The family room after Santa came.

December 23, 2014

My middle son helped with cookies today.

December 22, 2014

We got some wrapping done today.

December 21, 2014

My oldest got this ceramic tree for me.  He did a good job picking it out.  It looks good with my two ceramic snowmen.

December 20, 2014

My brother still enjoys Legos too.

December 19, 2014

I've started quilting this now.

December 18, 2014

Tonight was my daughter's school holiday concert.  It's always nice to see the kids all dressed up once in a while.

December 17, 2014

We made hot cocoa mix for her teacher's gift.

December 16, 2014

More basketball action!

December 15, 2014

This is one of the pictures I took for our Christmas card this year.  The kids enjoyed pretending to camp at the North Pole.  Once I was done, they took the frozen root beer into the house and grated it up to make slushies.

December 14, 2014

I've started getting small Lego sets to put together at Christmas.  It's fun to do, though I have to fight off the children from doing them for me.  This year I made the large snowman, two people on an ice rink, and a small train.

December 13, 2014

More work on the barn doors.

December 12, 2014

My next project, a quilted table runner.

December 10, 2014

My front yard looks so different with that tree (mostly) gone.  We'll pull the stump out later.  I'll have to find another tree to plant there.

December 9, 2014

My son got the Lego train going around the tree today.

December 8, 2014

I have a lot more ornaments than room on my tree, so not all of them get on the tree.

December 7, 2014

The kids put the tree up today and decorated it.

December 6, 2014

We started putting up the inflatables today.

November 29, 2014

My first Christmas decoration of the season.

November 26, 2014

My son's Lego train.  It runs rather well, and he is already wanting more track.

November 25, 2014

We've had a lot of wind lately.  It knocked down more of the bradford pear that had lost a limb earlier this year.  There's not much left of it now.

November 24, 2014

My daughter is in basketball again this year.  Today was her first game.

November 23, 2014

My son really wanted this.  It was expensive enough that it took two sets of grandparents to get it, but he was happy to get it.

November 22, 2014

Mini pumpkins are fun to decorate with.  We grew some white ones this year.

Our dog seems to enjoy the snow.

November 19, 2014

My son putting together another Lego set!

November 18, 2014

It stopped snowing yesterday, but a strong wind started overnight blowing all that snow into the road in front of our house.  Someone slid in the drift and wiped out our mailbox and paper box.  The tracks look like she slid sideways and hit the box with the side of her car, and stopped just short of the phone pole.  She stopped and left her info and said she'd pay for the replacement though, which is a first!  I took this photo about 15 minutes after she hit it, and it was already half covered in snow.  I saw many cars struggling through the drifts until a plow finally came through four hours later.

November 17, 2014

We got 5 inches of snow overnight.  My son and I sat in the van at the end of the driveway for 20 minutes for the bus.  When it got to the point that school started in 10 minutes (and it takes 15 to drive there on a good day), I finally backed up to the house to run in and get my purse to drive him there.  That's when the bus finally came, and he had to run back up the drive to catch it.  The bus was only about 10 minutes late for my daughter, but the roads were looking better by then.

November 16, 2014

Today he got more of the styrofoam on the doors (for insulation).

November 15, 2014

They got the top barn doors up today.

Friday, November 14, 2014

November 14, 2014

We got the first snow of the season today.  Time to find everyone's hat, gloves, and see how many of the kids outgrew their boots over the summer.

November 13, 2014

This is some of the fabric I'm using to make a little wall hanging quilt.  It's for fall, but I'm not sure I'll get it done before it's time for Christmas decorations.

November 12, 2014

This is how my son does his homework.  As long as he's getting good grades, I guess he'll be allowed to sit at the computer while working on it.
