My daughter likes playing with toy swords. Today she got my nephew involved. They had loud music playing and were fighting in a dramatic, twirling/rolling/jumping fashion.

My oldest got this ceramic tree for me. He did a good job picking it out. It looks good with my two ceramic snowmen.

Tonight was my daughter's school holiday concert. It's always nice to see the kids all dressed up once in a while.

This is one of the pictures I took for our Christmas card this year. The kids enjoyed pretending to camp at the North Pole. Once I was done, they took the frozen root beer into the house and grated it up to make slushies.

I've started getting small Lego sets to put together at Christmas. It's fun to do, though I have to fight off the children from doing them for me. This year I made the large snowman, two people on an ice rink, and a small train.

My front yard looks so different with that tree (mostly) gone. We'll pull the stump out later. I'll have to find another tree to plant there.

We've had a lot of wind lately. It knocked down more of the bradford pear that had lost a limb earlier this year. There's not much left of it now.

My son really wanted this. It was expensive enough that it took two sets of grandparents to get it, but he was happy to get it.

It stopped snowing yesterday, but a strong wind started overnight blowing all that snow into the road in front of our house. Someone slid in the drift and wiped out our mailbox and paper box. The tracks look like she slid sideways and hit the box with the side of her car, and stopped just short of the phone pole. She stopped and left her info and said she'd pay for the replacement though, which is a first! I took this photo about 15 minutes after she hit it, and it was already half covered in snow. I saw many cars struggling through the drifts until a plow finally came through four hours later.

We got 5 inches of snow overnight. My son and I sat in the van at the end of the driveway for 20 minutes for the bus. When it got to the point that school started in 10 minutes (and it takes 15 to drive there on a good day), I finally backed up to the house to run in and get my purse to drive him there. That's when the bus finally came, and he had to run back up the drive to catch it. The bus was only about 10 minutes late for my daughter, but the roads were looking better by then.

We got the first snow of the season today. Time to find everyone's hat, gloves, and see how many of the kids outgrew their boots over the summer.

This is some of the fabric I'm using to make a little wall hanging quilt. It's for fall, but I'm not sure I'll get it done before it's time for Christmas decorations.

This is how my son does his homework. As long as he's getting good grades, I guess he'll be allowed to sit at the computer while working on it.
