May 31, 2013

Today was track and field day.  My daughter (far right) managed to make it to a final heat.  She didn't win, but maybe next year!

May 30, 2013

I ended up with a whole flat of tomatoes this year.

May 25, 2013

The neighbor a few doors down came and mowed our hayfield.  It was sunny, but rather cold.  He thinks it will be dry on Monday.  Driving around, we saw several other farmers mowing their hay.

May 24, 2013

We closed the camper since we were supposed to get thunderstorms.  But the weather didn't really turn bad, although it did get cold again.

May 23, 2013

He had a school play/musical today.  He got to pass out the envelopes as part of the play.

May 22, 2013

My younger son's school project on Alabama.

They were playing with the remnants of a frisbee.

My younger son's Mother's Day present.

May 19, 2013

It was a nice day so we opened all the screens in the camper.  Then I measured all the cubby holes and cabinets, which took quite a while because there are a lot of them, and nearly every one is a different size.

His history teacher gives out massive "busy work" type homework.  Every month or so, he'd get a list of about 20-80 vocabulary words.  He'd have to look up and write a 25 word definition in his notebook, then again on notecards, write a sentence with the word, and then type the definition into Microsoft Word.  He's spending the weekend typing the last bit for the year.

The back side of the camper.  You can see all three fold-outs from here.

May 16, 2013

Dandelion.  All the ones that escaped the mower last week look like this now.

May 15, 2013

That is the bed the boys get.  I'm putting them by the table, so when they stay up late, sitting there on their computers, they won't be keeping me awake- I'll be on the opposite side of the camper.

May 14, 2013

My daughter sitting on the bed we said would be hers.  It's a big bed for a little girl!

May 13, 2013

The Mother's Day card my daughter made for me.

May 12, 2013

We got the camper opened up.

May 11, 2013

We picked up our new camper today!  We liked this one because it's fairly small, yet has all kinds of things like a stove, bathroom, A/C, heat, and sleeps 7-8.  It has fold out queen beds on the ends and one side.

May 10, 2013

Working on the hitch for the truck.

May 9, 2013

We're mowing every 5-6 days now.  It's growing quite well.

May 8, 2013

I have a lot of lilacs this year.

May 7, 2013

It's funny how my dog will dig and dig in this area of the yard, particularly this garden, but rarely, if ever, has dug in the two gardens in the back.  Just this one; we have to fence in this one to keep her out, but don't fence the back garden.

May 6, 2013

He got all of our gardens plowed.

May 5, 2013

We got the bikes down and went on a ride today.

May 4, 2013

We got the potato patch planted today.  The dirt was dry, but not too awful dry, so it was easy to hoe.

May 3, 2013

It seems like we have more dandelions per square foot of yard than other people.  And then there's the neighbor to the right, who sprays his yard and has NO dandelions (until all of ours turn into fluffy seeds that float over there).

May 2, 2013

My daughter riding her bike.  It's time for a bigger one!

My daughter.

April 30, 2013

Dandelion.  They're covering my yard now.
