The jack-o-lanterns out in the rain.  Hurricane Sandy hit the coast, and we're stuck with rain and wind because of it.  Our electric was knocked out for a few hours, but it came back.  The kids didn't have school because of the weather today.  Calamity day #1, and it hasn't even snowed yet.

I made pumpkin bread from the parts of the jack-o-lanterns that were cut out.  Had enough for 2 bread, plus another 2 cups to freeze.

At the last minute, my younger son decided he wasn't going trick-or-treating.  So we made my oldest son escort my daughter up to the doors.  Most people handing out treats offered him some candy too, so he made out rather well.

My daughter decided to be a 'creeper', a monster from the video game Minecraft.  My mother-in-law made the costume, and did a good job on it.

It was time for the annual fall rock picture.  This time though, at the last minute, I decided to take a picture of all of us (so I'm in this one!).  The kids cooperated a little more this year, so it wasn't as painful as previous years to get a decent photo of them.  I had a remote in my hand, and the kids found it rather funny how the camera kept taking pictures.

My younger son has been getting in trouble at school for not getting his work done.  Then he brought home a folder of papers from school, and about 3/4 of them had comics on the back.  I like them though, he's getting pretty good at showing expressions.

Some of the potatoes.  After we pick them up, dad discs, and we always find more that the disc uncovers when it slices through them.  Thus, we end up with a bucket of 'cut' potatoes that need to be used up first.

We dug potatoes today.  There weren't as many as last year, but enough to last us until spring.
