I had to go to the post office, and this is the back of it. It's an old building, which just makes it that much more interesting. The inside public area probably hasn't changed much in the lifetime of the building... marble on the walls, walnut woodwork. The post office boxes are wood drawers with a little lock. It always feels like I'm stepping back in time when I go there. Although, I'm usually a little frustrated at that point due to the minimal number of parking spaces.

The kids went sled riding today on the hill by the neighbor's garage. Assuming they slide all the way down, they end up in our hayfield. Good thing we didn't make the fence any longer!

We went dress shopping today. She really had fun trying on fancy dresses. She was also fascinated by the non-ending reflections in the large mirrors that faced each other. We picked out a dress (not this one). And, after nearly two years, I'm finally posting a photo that includes me.

For some reason, scissors go through phases in my house. One day, I'll have half a dozen in my kitchen cabinet. One week later, they're all gone. Then it takes a month or so to come across them in various, unexpected locations throughout the house. Here are 2 out in the garage.

It is time to start looking at flower girl dresses. Tried this at a nearby department store, but I think it is too short. So that narrows the search to ankle-length dresses. She was very cute in it though.

I got a new lens attachment for my camera for my birthday. It is a fish-eye lens, which is a super-wide-angle lens. It gets nearly everything you can see with one eye. That means there's a little bit of distortion on the edges, but things in the distance are not distorted as much.

One of the things the kids did today instead of going to school. Snow day #1. I must say though, the school doing a mass call and telling us school is canceled is pretty nice. I can just answer the phone and go back to sleep instead of watching a scrolling bar on the TV.
